Justice Kennedy is retiring and much of Twitter thinks we're doomed

The new appointment would, presumably, give Trump a solid 5-4 edge on the court since Kennedy was often a swing vote on decisions, sometimes voting with liberal justices on issues such as gay rights and abortion (though his political affiliation and timing are surely tied together).

There is, of course, a chance that Democrats and some anti-Trump Republicans are able to continually block this nominee, much like Sen. Mitch McConnell and the GOP did for then-President Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland in 2016.

In the meantime, many Twitter users who fear what hound of Hell Trump may nominate to replace Kennedy and do away with things like abortion and voting rights are expressing their anguish on Twitter in pretty succinct terms.
